The Quick “About Dave”
Dave writes and records music in his home studio. As a solo artist, he creates his own backup music for live performances where he plays guitar and sings. He also sits in on band jams here and there.
The Longer “About Dave”
Dave first touched a piano when he was three sitting on his Dad’s lap. At family gatherings, his family would sit around the piano for singalongs; they still do.
At 13, he began collaborating with neighborhood kids writing and recording songs and gags on boxy cassette decks. (There’s a documented trail of over 80 recordings, mostly original, over 5 years.) It still goes on today but with better equipment.
He was in bands through high school, at 18 playing lead guitar in Pittsburgh clubs with an oldies band. He celebrated 21 at midnight in the middle of a gig. (They paused and served him a shot. Don’t tell anybody, but he’d already been drinking.)
From 2001 to 2012, he directed a local charity talent show (Brandon Idol, Momentum Festival) where he worked with some of the best singers in the Tampa area.
Twenty years ago, Dave started learning about computer audio production and recording, and he’s been playing and tweaking around with it ever since. Recently, he refurbed his home studio adding sound panels, bass traps, video/photography backgrounds and lighting.
